I had a really useful meeting with the OT, and she showed me lots of gadgets, so over the next few days I'll post some links and pics for things that she says are very helpful for those of us with limited dexterity

The first thing is a plug tug - it's so simple but makes it easier to pull plugs out of wall sockets

And it's pretty cheap too, I found them for £3.83 at Complete care shop

She gave me a catalogue for Able 2, which has masses of stuff. Normally I glaze over when I see these sorts of mags, because it's all so frightening, but tucked away are some other real gems, like grppers and tap turners and kitchen knives. I post more tomorrow, but gotta dash now

Bought a couple of pens as recommended - they are much fatter than normal pens and fit my hand really comfortably, and as an added bonus they are too big to lose!!!

They're 80p in Staples and sorry the pic makes them look HUGE!!!! They're really just normal pen size, but chunky!

Plus I bought a nice little extra for the kids (or anybody who likes lots of colours) - a pen with 10 colours, also nice and fat and easy to hold

10 in 1 pen

I have trouble using tweezers - plucking my eyebrows is getting really difficult, so I'm going to try these easi grip ones - they spring open and you press them inwards with whole hand - much better

I remember using scissors in school with the kids working on the same principal as this a few years ago. They worked well, probably still availabe from somewhwere.
The tweezers look good looks as though they've got a wider grip. Speaking of scissors, I've got a left hand pair to use when my right hand wont function, handy at times.

Hi All - here's another good idea - I tried this knife and it is surprisingly easy to use - apparently it keeps the wrist at a more comfortable angle, probably a bit awkward to fit in the cutlery drawer Cool

Try the Peta site for loads more ideas

Zena - I found these self-opening kitchen shears - I haven't actually tried them but they look comfy!

LOL ThumpUp you are a gem with your gadgets!
If anyone is after one of those knives, ikea do them. I goes in the drawer with other knives and wooden spoons ok.
I use normal knives for smaller veg/fruit, but the upside down knife works a treat!

But not everyone likes ikea or has one near them.

Just a way of saving our pennies!
